Amy Helnore My name is Amy Helnore and I am a volunteer side-walker for Rosie's Journey of Hope. I have always loved horses and when I came across an ad on Craigslist for volunteer help that involved working with horses, I attended an information meeting. Going in I wasn't sure what the program was going to be like and what kind of time I would have to commit to volunteering. What I found was a wonderful program, ran by some of the best people I have ever met, who's only agenda is to help people of many different abilities have a better quality of life. I volunteer only as much as my own personal schedule allows. I am a full time student working my way towards becoming a Registered Nurse, and a full time mother to three children. So with my husbands support at home, I get to help out at weekly sessions with some terrific students, and play with all the horses! What could be better than that? |
