Cathy Calvin

President and Founder of RJOH. She named this program after a quarterhorse named Rosie that she owned for 18 years. Rosie touched the hearts of many children and adults while she was a therapy horse in another facility Cathy operated in Manteca called the Diamond C Ranch. Unfortunately, Rosie died two years ago at the age of 29. She will always be remembered and this program is dedicated to the years she provided lessons for these special need children and adults.

Horses have helped Cathy heal from her own health issues. Suffering many years with back pain, insufficient blood flow in both legs along with chronic pain, she has used horses as her own therapy. She knows the benefits and the emotional bond that a horse has with humans. Cathy has a rich background in the medical field and is a licensed vocational nurse who is currently attending the University of Phoenix LVN to RN/BSN program. She will be graduating in 2011. She has had 31 years experience in the medical field and is currently working as a Health and Disability Coordinator for a HeadStart program for 7 years. She is also a CPR instructor. She has a strong background in equine therapy, training and lessons and is a NARHA IT Registered instructor. Starting this program has been a dream of hers for many years. After much hard work and perserverance RJOH will be a facility where children to come and not only benefit from these therapy sessions but they will have fun.
